why xat doesn't work on chrome

I own a Chromebook (I would much rather prefer a Mac, though) and I was trying to set a Xat chat box so I could chat with my friend. The only problem is that the chat box will not show; it just shows a blank space. I've investigated the problem and the answer is that Xat does not work on the Chrome web browser; it was probably blocked or flagged as malware.
